Day 63 - 9 weeks post accident

Good evening all,

Mike and I did not see a lot of each other today so I don't have a lot to report.  I caught up with him in the afternoon.  When I arrived he was receiving some much needed PT.  They were working him pretty hard and he was loving it.  His left foot weighs quite a bit so it's a real feat to get that leg up in the air, but he does it pretty well.

The Grafted site will be uncovered and redressed 48 hours after surgery / Wednesday sometime.  It will be interesting to see just how much of his leg lost skin.  He said the pain is not hurting him as much as he expected.  Who knows what it will be feeling like as the days go on.  I don't like to speak for him, but that's my take on it based on what he says.

MC had a lot of drugs this morning for the pain, but weaned himself off a little later in the day.  The drugs mess with his appetite and that's not a good thing.  Mike needs the food and the protein for his health.  It's such a balancing act trying to get his body healthy.

Our focus now is to build strength and get moving.  We are not sure how long Mike will be in the Hospital or if he will go home or to an assisted facility first.  Time will tell.  :-)

SB & MC out for the evening...

  2. Glad #11 is now behind you Mike. The photos really give us a visual of what this last surgery was about. Glad your pain level seems to be controllable. Hope in-between your PT they are letting you rest. You need a big fat chocolate cake for calories about now!! Hahaha sorry Sherry, I know that's not the best for nutrition. :) Thinking about you always and sending up prayers of endurance and strength. We may all be standing with you during this season, but God is holding you both and NOT letting go! ;)

  3. Glad we finally connected, Sherry. Mike, you are looking and doing well, especially for ALL that you've been through. That foot and those "little piggies" look nice and pink. Praying that there is contnued success and progresss. As always, good thoughts and prayers are being sent your way. (Visits from Harper can only make you smile.) Smiles always help. Heart hugs, from Lucia.
